Gardening Program Blooms At Beekman Library

BEEKMAN, N.Y. — A youth gardening program leads the list of events at the Beekman Library throughout May.

The Roots, Petals, and Wings Gardening Program will take place on Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. The program is designed for 5 to 12-year-olds, helping kids get started on the world of gardening.

May's Knit Wits meeting will be on Thursday, May 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and registration is required.

For those interested in creating their own marinades, Marinade Madness will take place on Thursday, May 19, at 6 p.m. All attendants are asked for a $5 donation.

The library's monthly book club will meet on Thursday, May 26, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the 'Book of Luminous Things' poetry collection. Registration is required.

The library's latest Teen Scene party on Friday, May 13, will be Star Wars-themed, with one of the Star Wars movies screened from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.. Sixth-grade students and up are welcome and registration is required.

A Family Movie Night will be on Friday, May 20, from 6:30 to 8;30 p.m. All ages are welcome and popcorn will be served as “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” is screened. Registration is required.

Every Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. will feature board games for all ages, and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Lastly, The Friends of the Beekman Library will hold a book sale on May 21, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The library is at 11 Town Center Boulevard in the town of Beekman (Hopewell Junction postal zone).
