Hudson Valley Balloon Festival Takes To The Skies

POUGHQUAG, N.Y. -- More than 100 hot-air balloons are expected to take to the skies in a kaleidocope of color when the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce host its 26th annual Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival Friday through Sunday, July 10 in Poughquag.

In addition to the balloon's, this year's festival at Barton Orchards at 63 Apple Tree Lane and a few balloons at Migliorelli Farm at 46 Freeborn Lane in Tivoli, will also include family activities, food and beverages, and live music. There will be a fireworks display Friday night and a Moon Glow on Saturday night. 

Admission to the morning launches is free. Admission to the afternoon festivals is $10 on Friday and Saturday in advance (a limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $12) and $5 on Sunday. 

Advance sale tickets are available, including an all access weekend pass at www.balloonfesthv.com. Tether rides will be available for sale for cash only during the weekend of the event. A limited number of Balloon Rides are available for advance purchase.

At Migliorelli Farm, smaller launches will be on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. There will also be family activities and concessions as well as tether rides. Admission at Migliorelli Farm is free.

Launches will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Morning launches will be at 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Festival hours are Noon to 10 p.m. on Friday; 5 to7 a.m. and Noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 5 to 7 a.m. and Noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
