The event, which is run by former head of Trinity School, historian and author Robin Lester, is described as "a moving experience," for some, according to a statement from the library.
The workshop also was said to be "not a traditional writing workshop," in that that no one is judged for the quality of their writing.
"What is of importance is to simply record your memories," the statement said. "These are priceless gifts that are presented and will one day be given to loved ones to cherish for years to come."
