With the World Cup quickly approaching and international games already taking place, there is no better time to list the best wines from some of the best wine-producing countries. Wineology takes a trip around the world to take a closer look at what makes each country's wine region special.

Spain

Spain is one of the world's top leaders in both production and consumption of wine, and they don't sacrifice quality either! They rely on traditional production to keep up with their rich tradition instead of focusing on modern and often mass production techniques other places might use. Some of the most popular Spanish wines include Marques de Riscal Gran Reserva, Valdemar Inspiración Valdemar Maturana Tinta and Torres Mas La Plana.

United States

While wines from abroad are wonderful, traveling hundreds of miles away to seek delicious options isn't necessary, especially when finding great wine at home is just as easy. In the U.S., 2014 was a great year for wine production as more wine was purchased here than any other country in the world. Every state has a winery and they all have their own unique taste, however, Napa Valley and other regions in Northern California tend to be the most popular and offer a vast selection to fit any taste.

Italy

Italy is arguably the most famous place for quality wine production, and for good reason. They are the second largest producer of wine and have some of the oldest vineyards in the world, making their products some of the most sought-after wines in the world. Some of the more famous wines include Castello di Ama, Malvira Roero Arneis and Masi Campofiorin Rosso del Veronese.

France

After years of growing grapes on vineyards all over the beautiful country, France proudly produces more wine than any other country. Each region has their own style of wine, but some of the leading products include Chateau d'Yquem Sauternes, Chateau Lafite and Domaine Romanée Conti.
