DOVER, N.Y. – The Inn at Dover Furnace and its shooting range will close for good on New Year's Eve as part of its purchase by Olivet University, according to the Millbrook Independent.
Owners Jim and Jeanne Muncey announced the decision in a letter to members of the gun club earlier this month, the Independent reported.
While the gun club and attached shooting range are closing for good, Olivet still plans to use the inn for dining and conference room purposes, reported the Millbrook Independent.
In the letter to members available on the Dover Furnace website , the Munceys put the decision to sell the thousand-acre property down to "economics."
