PINE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Sarah Jones and Donald Bartles are leading in the races for two council seats on the Pine Plains Town Board, according to unofficial results released on Tuesday by the Dutchess County Board of Elections.
The results show that Jones received 287 votes, while Bartles got 255. Patrick Castelli is barely trailing, having received 252 votes. James Jackson is in fourth place with 242 votes.
The outcome of the races is unclear for now given the narrow margins; the winners will be known once official results are produced, which could be later this month.
Meanwhile, Supervisor Brian Coons, who ran unopposed, was easily re-elected. Unofficial results show that Coons received 320 votes.
Town Clerk Judy Harpp, who ran unopposed, was re-elected with 517 votes, the unofficial results show. Town Assessors Richard Diaz and James Mara, who also ran with no opposition, won with 459 and 425 respective votes, according to the unofficial results.
Highway Superintendent Heather Wilson and Town Justice Christi Acker, who each ran unopposed, were elected with respective vote tallies of 455 and 474, the unofficial results show.
