DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Jon Craig is assistant managing editor for Daily Voice and its three sites in Dutchess County, which launched Monday.

Craig is a graduate of Cornell University, Northwestern University and Pleasantville High School.

As a teenager, he worked on farms in Billings, N.Y., and Chappaqua. He enjoys photography, hiking, horseback riding and repairing cars.

Craig has won national awards from Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE), the Society of Professional Journalists (Sigma Delta Chi), the Association for Women in Communications, Children's Express and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), among others.

His first full-time job was at Gannett Westchester Rockland Newspapers (GWRN), covering Sing Sing Prison, Indian Point and the Hudson River.

He previously worked in Syracuse and Ohio -- where he covered the Statehouse and Death Row for three daily newspapers.

Before joining Daily Voice, Craig worked as managing editor for newspapers in Rye, Harrison and White Plains.
