New York State Fights STDs With Shipment Of 612,000 Free Condoms

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – New York State’s fight against sexually transmitted diseases includes shipping 612,000 condoms in 2014 to health departments, colleges and agencies in the Lower Hudson Valley, who then offered them free to social service providers or safe-sex educators, reports lohud.com.

The condoms were shipped by the taxpayer-funded New York State Condom Program, whose goal is to prevent the transmission of HIV and other STDs, according to the report.
