The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Friday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 48-year-old Victor Marrero, who has moved from the Bronx to a place on Dog Tail Corners Road in Wingdale.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Marrero as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense." He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Marrero had sexual intercourse, deviate intercourse and sexual contact with his 9-year-old victim - who was known to him - in June 2005. He was arrested by the New York City Police Department Sex Offender Unit and sentenced to three years in state prison in December 2006. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
