UNION VALE, N.Y. -- The Union Vale Town Board has formed a citizens committee to study, assess and make recommendations to the board about making sure residents have access to library services. The board is asking residents to join the committee to offer their input.
The purpose of the library steering committee is to investigate all possible options to ensure sustainable public library service for all Union Vale residents. The committee comes on the heels of the Mid-Hudson Library System agreeing to offer full services to Union Vale residents.
Since August, the system had a restriction on loaning nonprint library materials to Union Vale residents because they offered less than average funding to the library. Click here to read a related Daily Voice article.
The first meeting of the steering committee will be held at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Union Vale Town Hall, 249 Duncan Road, Lagrangeville. All residents interested in serving on the board are invited to attend.
