Carman J. Marrone, 94, Millbrook Resident

MILLBROOK, N.Y. — Millbrook resident Carman J. "Joe" Marrone died Tuesday, May 31. He was 94.

Marrone served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was the recipient of the American Service Medal, EAME Service Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. 

Marrone was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie for 33 years, retiring in 1984 as a field engineer. 

He was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, in Millbrook and a 72-year member of the Pleasant Valley- Millbrook American Legion Post #739. 

Marrone is survived by his son, Carman J. Marrone Jr. and his wife, Donna; his son, Philip Marrone and his wife, Rosanne; his granddaughter, Leigh Matthews and her husband, Dan; his grandson, Christopher; his grandson, Dylan and his wife, Amethyst; his grandson, Luke; his grandson, Anthony; his grandson, Philip; his granddaughter, Rebecca; his grandson, Michael; and his granddaughter, Monica Marrone; 

He also is survived by his sister-in-law, Ethel Marrone; his step-sister, Angie Young; his step-brothers, Dominic DeSantis and Alex DeSantis and his wife, Shirley; and his great-grandchildren, Maximus and Griffin Matthews and Kaiya White.

Marrone was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Golden) Marrone; his parents, Filippo and Clementine Marrone; and a grandson, Andrew Joseph Marrone.
