MILLBROOK, N.Y. – Gregory John Evangelista, a resident of Millbrook, died Monday, May 30.
Born March 7, 1964, in Sharon, Conn., he was the son of Dorothy and John Evangelista.
He is a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School, SUNY Cobleskill and Syracuse University. Evangelista went on to receive his master’s degree at SUNY New Paltz in special education. He spent several years teaching special education in New York, Florida and North Carolina. He had a lifelong love of working with children, landscaping and flowers.
He is survived by his parents Dorothy and John Evangelista; his sisters Deanne Evangelista of Jupiter, Fla.; and Jennifer Oliveira and her husband William of Northborough, Mass.; niece Angelina Oliveira and nephew John Oliveira; an uncle; aunts; cousins; and many friends.
Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at Saint Joseph’s Church, North Avenue, Millbrook. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.
