PAWLING, N.Y. – Gwyneth Daniels Berkeley, of Pawling, died Monday, March 14 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn. She was 79.
Born Sept. 23, 1936, in Pawling, to Gwendolyn Thomas Daniels and Charles Ross Daniels, she spent her life growing up and raising her family in Pawling. Except for a few short periods, Pawling was her home and the place she loved most. On Nov. 23, 1957, she was married to William Taylor Berkeley at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Pawling. Together they made their home and enjoyed many years of marriage, parenthood and wonderful times with each other, their family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Stephen and Nancy Berkeley of Walpole, Mass., Gwennda and Gordon MacKenzie of Millbrook, Lloyd Berkeley of Pawling and Laura and Jon Olsen of Pawling; grandchildren, Cora and Catherine MacKenzie and Margaret and Thomas Berkeley; her brother, C. Ross Daniels Jr. and his wife, Fayne; and cousins George Coulter, John Daniels and Mary Jones.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Taylor Berkeley; and her brother, Lloyd Thomas Daniels.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Pawling, followed by a reception at the family home. A private burial will be at Quaker Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Pawling Free Library or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Arrangements are under the supervision of the Horn & Thomes Inc. Funeral Home, Pawling.
