John-Paul "J.P." Faour Of Poughkeepsie, 34

John-Paul Faour, a lifelong local area resident, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was 34.

J.P. was born in Poughkeepsie on September 28, 1982. He attended local schools including Roy C. Ketcham High School in Wappingers Falls and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.

He loved to cook, and as a result worked at many local restaurants. He greatly loved animals, especially dogs, and frequently worked as a veterinary assistant, dog trainer, and pet caretaker.

Survivors include his mother, Cherie Ellis Faour of Poughkeepsie; his father, Robert J. Faour of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Heather Gerardi & her husband Ronald of LaGrange; his brother, Dennis Faour of Brooklyn; his nephew and niece, Michael & Ava Gerardi; his grandmothers, Rose Ellis of Beacon and Gloria Faour of Brooklyn; his aunts and uncles, Dennis & Lisa Ellis of Marlboro, Karen & Tim Dexter of Beacon, and Rev. George Faour of Orange, NJ; also many cousins and other loving relatives & friends.

He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Gerard Ellis and Dominick Faour.

John-Paul will be remembered by his family & friends for his caring and generous spirit. Just as he gave in life, he gave in death as an organ donor.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.
