Louise Aleanderson, 86, Of Wingdale

WINGDALE, N.Y. -- Louise Alexanderson of Wingdale, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the age of 86.

She was born April 23, 1929, the first child of Elizabeth Fisk Joyner and Larkin Joyner, in the Bronx.

Alexanderson is survived by her husband of 70, Carl Alexanderson, of Wingdale; four children: Linda (Alex) Miller, and her husband Alan of Vestal, Peter Alexanderson, and his wife Robin of Brewster, Amy Heinrich, and her partner Carmelo Bueti of Wingdale, and Lisa Whalen of Schenectady; a brother, Richard Alexanderson, of Woodbury; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Louise and Carl moved to Mahopac Falls in 1957, where they raised their four children, all of whom attended the Mahopac school district. They resided in Mahopac for 17 years, and in 1974 they moved to the Pawling area, where they resided for 20 years.

She attended Dutchess Community College, where she obtained a B.S. in sociology in 1974 and she later obtained her B.S.N. in nursing.

She served as head nurse in the recovery room at the Putnam Hospital Center for 18 years, retiring in 1989. She then became a public health nurse in Dutchess County, where she served for many years before retiring to Florida. She and her husband Carl moved to St. Augustine, Fla., in 1995, where they made many friends and enjoyed sailing, gardening and many other activities during a long and enjoyable retirement.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Beecher Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
