MILLBROOK, N.Y. – Marilyn J. McDowell, of Millbrook, died Monday, March 7. She was 72.
She was born at Vassar Brothers Hospital on Feb. 8, 1944, to George and Eleanor McLain.
She graduated from Staatsburg Union School in Hyde Park and was later employed by Feldman Jacobson Abstract for 42 years.
In 1966, she married Ronald McDowell in Staatsburg.
She is survived by her children, Steven McDowell and his wife, Leanne, of Dunn Loring, Virginia, and her daughter, Meaghan Williamson and her husband, Thomas Williamson, of Millbrook; grandchildren Aidan and Evan McDowell and Hunter Williamson; her ex-husband, Ronald McDowell, and his wife, Susan McDowell; her brother, William McLain and his wife, Jane McLain; and her best friend, Joan Bender.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home, 3270 Franklin Ave., Millbrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 15 North Ave., Millbrook. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her name to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10022.
