Professional Paver Mark Thompson, 49, Of Dutchess

BEACON, N.Y. – Mark Thompson of Beacon died Wednesday, Dec. 28. He was 49.

Thompson, the son of Rosemary Thompson and the late Woodrow P. Thompson, was a 1985 graduate of Beacon High School.

A member of Laborers Local 17, he was employed by Joshua Paving of Clintondale, N.Y., and Seminole Paving of Sandford, Fla.

He was formerly employed by Avello Brothers and Porco Energy.

Thompson’s family said he was a hard worker and an “amazing” son, brother, uncle, and friend who was passionate about his family, The New England Patriots and life in general.

He is survived by his mother, Rosemary; sisters and “brothers,” Leilani Thompson, Jeannine Lamoree and husband David, and Karla Lahey and her husband Dennis; nieces and nephews, Daniel Lenihan, Rosanna (Andrew) Tyckoson, Kari Lahey, Denise Lahey, Ashley Lamoree, David Lamoree, and Kacee Lahey; and great-nephew, Riley Anderson.

Thompson was predeceased by his father in 1989,  maternal grandparents, Angelo and Mary Colacicco; and paternal grandparents, Woodrow and Marie Thompson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at St. John The Evangelist Church, 31 Willow St., Beacon.

Monsignor Gerry Colacicco will officiate.

Burial will follow in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Washington Avenue, Beacon.

Arrangements are being handled by Jarett D. Quick of the Libby Funeral Home, Inc. 55 Teller Ave., Beacon.
