PAWLING, N.Y. -- Rinaldo Dipre died April 23, at The Grand Nursing Home in Pawling after a brief illness; he was 84 years old.
Born in Stenico, Italy, on July 12, 1931, to Quintilio and Amelia (Pederzzoli) Dipre.
He was married to Angela Cadore, Dipre was a union timberman in construction in New York City before he retired. Dipre was a resident of Wingdale for more than 40 years, having previously lived in Ridgewood after coming to the United States in 1955.
Rinaldo and his wife, Angela, maintained a community residence for almost 20 years, working to provide a decent place to live available to those less fortunate.
Dipre is survived by his daughter, Rosemary Dipre of Wingdale; a brother, Sandro Dipre and a sister, Sandra Gonghi, both of Italy.
His wife died in 2013.
Friends may pay their respects at the Horn and Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main St. in Pawling on Tuesday, April 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church in Pawling. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
