Rosemary Theresa Irwin, 71, Of Pawling

PAWLING, N.Y. – Rosemary Theresa Irwin, a lifelong resident of Pawling, died Sunday, April 3. She was 71.

She was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Pawling to Callistus P. and Marcella E. McGrath.

She graduated from Pawling High School in 1963 and was a mail department clerk at Guideposts in Carmel. She also enjoyed reading magazines and newspaper obituaries.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas McGrath and his wife, Sigrid; her sisters, Elizabeth Grogan and Catherine Roberts and her husband, Peter, all of Pawling; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband William Irwin; and her brother, Jack McGrath.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Horn & Thomes Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Pawling. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John’s Cemetery, East Street, Pawling.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
