Stanley H. Benham Jr., 87, Of Millbrook

MILLBROOK, N.Y. -- Stanley H. Benham Jr., a resident of Millbrook, died Saturday, April 2. He was 87.

He was born in Stanfordville, N.Y. to Mildred and Stanley H. Benham.

He attended Millbrook Memorial High School and graduated from Clarkson College of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was also a second Lieutenant in the Army Signal Corps Reserves. He worked for General Electric and then was employed by IBM, where he worked for 32 years.

After retirement, he was a member of Chestnut Ridge Rod and Gun club and a member of the Lyall Memorial Federated Church.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons and their wives: Thomas and Beatrice of Kingston, NY; William and Lynda of East Quogue, NY; and Stephen and Margaret of Sidney, NY; brother Sidney of Stanfordville; sister, Virginia Augerson of Millbrook; granddaughters Jill Benham and Renee Hart; grandsons Michael, Bradley, Matthew and Garrett Benham; two great granddaughters, Clarissa and Paige Hart.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Murphy and a brother, David.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 11 a.m. at the Lyall Memorial Federated Church, Maple Ave., Millbrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Meals On Wheels in care of Lyall Memorial Federated Church, Maple Avenue, Millbrook, N.Y.
