Teresa M. Swalagin, 93, Lifelong Pawling Resident

PAWLING, N.Y. — Lifelong Pawling resident Teresa M. Swalagin died Wednesday, June 1. She was 93.

Swalagin was a nurse’s aide at Harlem Valley State Hospital in Wingdale for 38 years. 

She was a communicant of St. John’s Church, the Catholic Daughters and the Alter Rosary Society.

Swalagin is survived by her son, George and his wife, Mary Jane Swalagin; son, Charles and his wife, Lisa Swalagin; daughter, Patricia Coleman-Gardella; four brothers, Mike, Sy, Dominick and Roland Capalbo; four grandchildren, Bruce, Brian and Anne-Noel Barbera and Shannon Morcey; six great-grandchildren, Sydney, Paige and Chloe Barbera, Aliyah Barbera and Peter Slade Morcey and Greta Morcey; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Swalagin was predeceased by her husband, George; her parents, Angelo and Agnes (Taney) Capalbo; and several brothers and sisters.
