Do you know this man? FBI says he secretly taped naked girls in his home

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: The FBI took the rare step today of publishing a mugshot of a man in federal custody on charges of distributing videos he made of naked pre-pubescent girls, given the possibility that victims or others involved with him might be able to supply the government with information in their investigation.

A federal judge in Newark this afternoon ordered that Ronald Oshrin, 49, of Budd Lake be held without bail pending a hearing Thursday.

The FBI said Oshrin, a married insurance company project manager, secretly recorded the girls as they took off their clothes, showered or used the bathroom in his house, then shared the videos and photos online.

Agents arrested him on Friday after he also admitted downloading kiddie porn and distributing it through email and posts to file-sharing sites the past five years, they said.

CLIFFVIEW PILOT published two photos of Oshrin with its original story: Morris man secretly taped naked girls in his house, FBI says

The mugshot was issued hours later.

“[T]he FBI does not typically release photographs of persons in custody,” the bureau said in a release late this afternoon. “A rare exception is being made in this instance for the exclusive purpose of identifying potential victims who may be associated with this case.

“Anyone who believes they have personal interest in this matter, i.e., victim or witness, should contact the FBI at 973-792-3000.”

Oshrin, a computer programmer who consults for General Dynamics, “installed video cameras in several locations throughout his home, particularly in a bathroom and bedroom,” according to a complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in federal court in Newark.

“When pre-pubescent girls were in the bathroom or bedroom, he would monitor the cameras and make video recordings of the girls as they were disrobing, using the shower or using the toilet.

“Because he installed multiple cameras in the bathroom, it allowed video production from various angles and allowed him to focus on speciñc areas of interest.”

Oshrin pulled still screenshots from the video for distribution, as well, the FBI said in an affidavit supporting the complaint.

The agents seized an encripted portable disc drive that includes a six-minute video of a girl, about 12 to 15, undressing and showering — with closeups of her private areas, agents said.

Another video, about two  minutes long, shows another naked girl standing in front of the hidden camera in the bathroom, the federal complaint says.

The FBI said it found Oshrin after he “posted photographs of clothed children on a known child pornography site with text statements indicating that [he] enjoyed masturbating to images of children and producing videos of pre-pubescent girls.”

U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman credited special agents of the FBI Newark Division’s Cyber Crime Task Force for the arrest in what he said is an ongoing investigation. Prosecuting for the government is Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Constantine Soupios of Fishman’s General Crimes Unit in Newark.

Oshrin, who attended George Washington and Susquehanna universities after being graduated from the Delbarton School 21 years ago, was brought before
U.S. Magistrate Judge Patty Shwartz this afternoon on charges of distributing child pornography.
