On Tuesday, New York State Police announced that Ann Harris, 31, was arrested on grand larceny charges stemming from a lengthy investigation that involved her mother, who was “ill and incapacitated."

According to police, Harris was arrested following a report of larceny and identity theft that was filed in December last year. It was reported that Harris’ mother’s bank account was depleted of thousands of dollars in several charges and withdrawals.

An investigation determined that Harris had “taken advantage of her mother’s illness and incapacitation to seriously deplete most of the finances through the fraudulent charges and cash withdrawals.”

Harris has been arraigned before Judge John Fusco and remains remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail and $40,000 bond.
