Dutchess Man Caught With Crack Cocaine With Intent To Sell, Police Say

A Poughkeepsie man is behind bars after police officers stopped to check out a suspicious vehicle and found crack cocaine, according to Town of Lloyd police.

Eugene L. Cummings, 27, was arrested about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday when officers responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Half Moon Road in Highland, said Lt. James Janso.

Responding Lloyd police found a taxi parked at the of a driveway of a residence and Cummings, a passenger in the taxi, was found to be in possession of a gram of crack cocaine, Janso said.

He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and possession with intent to sell, both felonies. 

Cummings is being held at the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 insurance bond.
