Dutchess Sheriff Seeks Suspects In Pawling Drive-By Shooting

PAWLING, N.Y. – A house struck by bullets last week in Pawling may have been the target of a drive-by shooting, according to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office is advising residents to stay alert, but not to panic, after a house on Route 55 in Pawling was the target of an apparent drive-by shooting.

A homeowner on Route 55 heard gunshots early Sunday, Jan. 4, but did not discover that the house had been hit until the next day, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, which was advising residents to be alert, told the Poughkeepsie Journal that investigators believed the shots had been fired from a rifle from a car.
