The school, the United Talumudical Academy, has recently been the target of sexual abuse allegations after videos surfaced that purported to show an official there inappropriately touching a young student, media reports said.

In March, the FBI raided yeshivas in Rockland County’s New Square, according to reports by lohud.com and News12.

In that case, authorities were investigating reports that federal funds, earmarked for buying computers and improving internet access in schools, had been either misappropriated or stolen, the News12 report said.

New Square, the country’s first Jewish incorporated village, generally shuns computer use in its schools, according to the News12 report.

It was not clear, lohud.com reported, if those two sets of raids were connected.

According to lohud.com, the FBI would not comment on the nature of the Kiryas Joel raids, which also reportedly took place at the village’s public safety building.

Officials in Ramapo, the town where New Square is located, have remained equally as tight-lipped about the March raids, according to media reports.

Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence is currently under indictment in a federal securities fraud case in connection with the selling of municipal bonds used to build the town's baseball stadium.

The county’s district attorney’s office and sheriff’s office also took part in the raids, media reports said.
