Fire Causes Early Dismissal At Dover Jr./Sr. High School

DOVER, N.Y. -- Students were evacuated at Dover Junior/Senior High School early Monday when surge protectors caused an electrical fire, according to the Dover Union Free School District.

Fire officials said the fire was contained and no on was injured, but students will be released at 9 a.m. Monday to ensure there are no further issues, the school district said.

Fire and BOCES officials will inspect the entire building once students are released for any additional problems, the school said.

Parents are asked to pick up students at 9 a.m. Parents with questions are should call the school at 845-877-5750.
