Fugitive Wanted On Domestic Violence Charges Apprehended In Amenia

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man wanted on domestic violence charges in Dutchess County was nabbed by New York State Police on Wednesday following a joint operation with the Connecticut State Police.

New York State police had issued an arrest warrant for Raymond Sprague III, 28, of Sharon, Conn., following a Sept. 3 incident in the Town of Northeast. Following an investigation he was charged with criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and criminal trespass, state police said.

On Monday, the Connecticut State Police investigated an additional dispute involving Sprague, which occurred in the Town of Sharon. As a result of the second incident, Connecticut State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Sprague on assault related charges.

Wednesday, during a joint operation, Connecticut State Police and the New York State Police located Sprague at a residence in the Town of Amenia where he was arrested, state police said.

Sprague was arraigned in the Town of Northeast Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Northeast Court on Sept. 30.
