DOVER PLAINS, N.Y. -- An Amenia home health aide has been charged with stealing $4,000 from an elderly client, the state police said Thursday.

Michelle L. Kesson, 48, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, state police said.

According to police, Kesson was caring for a Dover Plains woman when she took the money from the victim’s bank account.

Kesson was arraigned in the Town of Amenia Court and released on her own recognizance.

She is due to appear in court on Monday, March 21.
