Kent Woman Injured In Route 22 Pawling Crash

PAWLING, N.Y. -- A Kent woman was seriously injured when she ran into the back of a U.S. Postal Service truck on Monday in Pawling, and then slammed into a utility pole, according to the New York State Police.

The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Old Pawling Road and Old Route 22, entrapped the woman and closed the highway for over an hour as emergency personnel worked to free her, said Trooper William Singleton.

The woman was taken to taken to Danbury Hospital where she is listed in stable condition, he added.

The postal truck driver was not injured.
