Man Caught With Firearm, Drugs At Pawling Rest Stop, Police Say

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - State police arrested a 28-year-old man at a Dutchess County rest area after he was busted with drugs and an illegal firearm.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, state police troopers from Dover Plains approached Manhattan resident Aaron Cintron while he was parked at a rest area in Pawling.

During the subsequent investigation, police said that they determined Cintron was in possession of stolen license plates, a firearm and “large quantity” of marijuana. He was arrested at the scene and charged with felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of marijuana, as well as a count of criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

Cintron was arraigned in the Town of Pawling Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. He is due back in court later this year.
