Man Damages Air Conditioner In Beekmantown Domestic Dispute, Say Police

BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. -- New York State Police have arrested a 24-year-old resident of Mooers on criminal contempt and other charges following an incident at a Beekmantown residence, authorities said.

The arrest came about when state police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Stoney Acres Drive Tuesday at approximately 8:42 a.m., according to officials.

An investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as Carl J. Duprey, violated an active order of protection when he unlawfully entered the residence, threatened harm to a 24-year-old woman and damaged an air conditioner, police report.

Duprey has been charged with criminal contempt in the first degree, a class E felony; aggravated family offense, a class E felony; criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a class A misdemeanor; and harassment in the second degree, a violation, according to officials.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Beekmantown Court, and was remanded to the Clinton County Jail on $1,000 cash or $2,000 secure bond, police report.
