Man Seen Exposing Himself On I-84 Ramp Faces Host Of Charges, Police Say

A man who allegedly exposed himself to motorists while drunk on I-84 in Putnam County is facing a litany of charges after being busted by state police with cocaine.

New York State Police troopers received complaints of a man exposing himself to traffic on the Exit 21 ramp on I-84 at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

Upon arrival, police said that 51-year-old Newtown, Conn., resident Leonardo Fregoso was found impaired by alcohol at the exit, with his vehicle stopped on Danbury Road. A subsequent investigation into the incident found that Fregoso was in possession of .63 grams of cocaine and was the suspect accused of exposing himself on the exit ramp.

Fregoso was arrested and charged with a felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as driving while intoxicated, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and public lewdness, misdemeanors. He was also cited for exposure of a person, a violation.

Following arraignment at the Town of Patterson Justice Court, Fregoso was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. He is due to appear in the Town of Southeast Court on Nov. 16 to answer the charges.
