Man Stole Pharmaceutical Items From Yorktown, Carmel Pharmacy, Police Say

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- A 33-year-old man is under arrest after Yorktown Police say he stole $1,462.13 worth of pharmaceutical items from CVS on Commerce Street.

Ramel Allen of New York City resident was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony.

On Tuesday, April 25, a manager at CVS reported three men and one woman fled the store with the pharmaceutical items without paying, police said.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office later arrested the suspects, who committed a similar incident in Carmel, police said. Allen was arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Department of Corrections, police said.

He is due back in court on May 4. Additional arrests are pending, police said.
