DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 34-year-old man is facing felony drug charges after he was stopped in Dutchess County on Christmas Day for speeding.

New York State Police announced Tuesday that Christopher Laundry of Albany was arrested Sunday after he was pulled over for speeding on Route 22 in North East.

According to police, troopers stopped Laundry while he was on Route 22, and discovered he was under the influence of drugs and in possession of cocaine.

Laundry was charged with a felony count of driving while ability is impaired by drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance. He had previously been convicted of DWI in 2013.

After being evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert, Laundry was arraigned in the Town of North East Court and released on $1,000 cash bail. He is due back in court in the new year.
