It was the second such bust in the community in less than a week.

Authorities closed in after an officer on patrol reported spotting the weed growing on 32-year-old Joel Clements' East Duncan Hill Road property, police said.

Clements was arrested and charged with the unlawful growing of cannabis, a misdemeanor, and second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony.

Clements was arraigned in Town of Dover Court and released on his own recognizance.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 17.

On Friday, Sept. 23, state police seized 14 marijuana plants from a property on Oniontown Road in Dover Plains, less than four miles away.

Arrested in that case was George Anderson, 55.

Anderson was charged with unlawful growing of cannabis and criminal possession of marijuana.

Anderson was released and is to appear in court Thursday, Sept. 29.
