GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Two men from Massachusetts were charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, on Monday in connection with a church break-in.

Police said the men caused more than $500 in damage and stole two bibles worth $400 during the burglary about 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The burglary was reported at Saint Francis and Saint Martha’s Episcopal Church at 575 Tarrytown Road in the White Plains section of Greenburgh. A church window was broken and the floor was damaged, police said.

Police arrested Daniel Fraser, 22, and Travis Stronjy, 23, both from Taunton, Mass.

Lt. Frank Farina, a town police spokesman, said that while people were investigating another complaint in the neighborhood they spotted a man matching a description of one of the burglary suspects.

Both suspects were arraigned on Monday and sent to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Stronjy also was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for carrying a switchblade knife, police said.
