DOVER PLAINS, N.Y. -- Police said Monday it will take up to six weeks to determine a cause of death for Brandon Ellis, a 39-year-old Town of Poughkeepsie resident who was found dead last week.
A toxicology report on Ellis, who was discovered on the Appalachian Trail in Pawling on June 20, is still being done, Trooper Melissa McMorris of the New York State Police, said.
Ellis was reported missing by a family member after he failed to return to his home. Ellis’ vehicle was subsequently located at the Appalachian Trail head on Route 55 in Pawling
A preliminary investigation did not reveal any notable signs of foul play.
