William W. Johnson III, 48, operating a 2001 Jeep Cherokee south on St 9W crossed over the center line and struck a tractor-trailer traveling north on Route 9W. Johnson’s vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane and was struck by a third vehicle. A fourth vehicle was damaged by debris from the impacts.
Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene and transported to Kingston Hospital. State Route 9W was closed for several hours for the collision reconstruction investigation.
