Investigators with the department's Traffic Enforcement Unit are investigating the accident that killed Brian Freer, 28, and closed the highway overnight, police said.

A preliminary investigation shows the accident occurred when a 2011 BMW 328i, being operated by an 18- year-old female from Cypress, Texas, was exiting a local business. As the driver was exiting the business, a 2003 Honda motorcycle, driven by Freer, collided with her vehicle in the roadway.
