Officer Fred Corrubia Jr. joined fellow Port Authority Officers Stephen Gryboski and Michael O’Sullivan in grabbing the man as he threatened to jump from the walkway around 2:40 p.m.

“After engaging him in conversation, the officers got close enough to grab his arms and clothing and hold on,” the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“Then they pulled him to safety.”

The man was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center, he said.
