AMENIA, N.Y. -- Firefighters from Amenia were called to the scene of an accident involving a car into a building at 5327 Route 44 in Amenia early Monday afternoon.

Capt. John Watterson, a spokesman for the Dutchess County Sheriff's Department, said, "There was no intrusion into the building, and no structural damage to the building."

The driver was a pregnant female who was transported to Sharon Hospital for evaluation, Watterson said.

No charges have been filed, and the cause is still under investigation, Watterson said.
