Officers from the Red Hook Police Department were dispatched to the Sidelines Bar and grill at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 following a report of an in intoxicated man causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the location.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the man - who was later identified as Elizaville resident Anthony Stoddard - and while attempting to escort him to a vehicle, police said he became combative and physically fought with officers.
One officer was injured during the process and was treated for injuries at Northern Dutchess Hospital. He has since been released.
Following his apprehension, Stoddard was charged with a felony count of assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, a misdemeanor and disorderly conduct and trespassing, both violations.
Stoddard was arraigned in the Town of Red Hook Court and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
