Richard Barone leads this weekend’s Hoboken Arts & Music Festival

Hoboken’s adoptive son, Richard Barone, will be the star attraction, playing songs from his sparkling new CD, “Glow,” at the city’s Fall Arts & Music Festival this weekend. The onetime frontman for the hugely popular Bongos has mixed together many of his major influences, from his latest close friend, Lou Reed, to idols including David Bowie and Marc Bolan, with help from Jill Sobule and Paul Williams, among others.

Sunday’s lineup on the Newark Street Stage at City Hall:

Meawhile, family-oriented entertainment is booked for the 3rd Street stage:

And at the 6th Street Stage:
12:30pm    Newport Dance Ensemble – Kid’s Group

As always, the Washington Street festival will have artists set up between 2nd & 3rd Street. You’ll find oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, sculpture & more; restaurant food throughout the fair; and a children’s area at 3rd Street, with rides, games, creative activities, a magic show, face painting, and clowns.

What’s more, craftsmen and women will sell their pottery, metalwork, wood items, furniture, blown & fused glass, quilts, household items made from recycled materials, cementware, batik clothing, hand painted furniture, candles, jewelry, dried florals, and soaps & lotions.

Admission is free, rain or shine.
