Second Person Accuses Dutchess Attorney Of Forcibly Touching, Sheriff Says

A Poughkeepsie attorney who had been accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a client is now facing a similar accusation from a new accuser.

The Dutchess County Sheriff's office said that 63-year-old Wayne Thatcher, 63, was charged with an additional count of forcible touching Friday after the second person came forward with information about another alleged incident.

This latest charge is in the Town of Poughkeepsie, and after being processed, Thatcher was arraigned and posted bail, the sheriff's office said.

Thatcher had been initially charged on May 18 following an investigation that followed a report of repeated sexual contact with a client, said the sheriff's office.

The actions took place in the Town of Poughkeepsie and the City of Poughkeepsie, sheriff's officials said.

Thatcher, who was charged with two counts of forcible touching, was processed and released on his own recognizance after that charged.
