An alert was issued for James Woolley, 37, who is wanted by the Town of Amenia Justice Court after he was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse.

"We know from information received that he is in Connecticut, but we can't arrest him until he returns to New York," said Trooper AJ Hicks.

Police said Woolley pleaded guilty to the charge, then failed to appear for sentencing. His last known address was in Connecticut, but he is known to frequent the Millerton area in Dutchess.

Troopers are encouraging residents in Millerton to report any sightings of Woolley in that area.

Woolley is described as being a 5-foot-6 white man weighing 143 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with information regarding Woolley’s whereabouts is asked to contact state police at 845-677-7300 or by emailing CrimeTip@troopers.ny.gov.
