Trucker who tried cheating GWB tolls had no registration, insurance, Port Authority police charge

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A trucker stopped by Port Authority police for trying to cheat the George Washington Bridge tolls didn’t have registration or insurance for the vehicle, authorities said.

Salvador E. Ramirez, 32, of Newark, rolled the 2012 Hino through an E-ZPass lane without license plates was stopped around 4 p.m., the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

Ramirez “indicated that he didn’t know where the plates for the vehicle were and he could only produce his own driver’s license,” Pentangelo said.

PAPD officers charged him with theft of services while issuing him several summonses and impounding the truck, he said.
