Ronald Kohler, 46, and Doloresse Lubin, 45, of Shrub Oak were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor.

At 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, police received a call about a small child standing on the sidewalk alone and barefoot on East Main Street. The girl told officers she lived on Stonegate Road. When they brought her home, they found no one else at home.

After further investigation, police discovered the defendants left the girl at home to go to the Croton-Harmon Train Station.

The two were released on their own recognizance and are due back in court on Nov. 14.
