Two Dutchess Teens Caught With 46 Grams Of Heroin After Traffic Stop

A pair of Dutchess teens were caught with approximately 46 grams of heroin after a traffic stop on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls on Friday, state police said.

The State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET), in conjunction with the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU), and assisted by Members of the SP Wappingers barracks and NYSP K-9, conducted a narcotics investigation that led to the stop.

An investigation resulted in the arrest of Elijah Paulin, 19, of Beacon, and Jashaun T. Trotman, 18, of Edgar Street in Poughkeepsie and the seizure of approximately 46 grams of heroin.

Both subjects were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (a Class B Felony). Both subjects were arraigned before the Village of Wappingers Falls Court Judge Raymond Chase and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
