DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 28-year-old woman is facing a drug charge after being stopped by state police on Route 44 for a routine traffic violation.
On Sunday, state police stopped College Park, Ga., resident Jessica Bruce for an equipment violation on Route 44 in Pleasant Valley.
Police said that during the subsequent stop, it was determined that Bruce was operating her vehicle under the influence of drugs and that she was in possession of methamphetamine.
Bruce was arrested at the scene and charged with misdemeanor counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs. She was arraigned in Town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Duchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. She is due back in court later this year.
